Letter to you from Amanda

Hello! Hello! Hello!

🌕 Hey Gems ,

I’ve been sittin’ here, thinkin’ about how to share my story. It’s not easy to put it all out there, but if it helps even one of y’all feel less alone, it’s worth it.

Growing up, life wasn’t what you’d call easy. I watched my mom go through things no woman should ever have to face—domestic violence. And I carried my own pain too, from childhood sexual abuse. That kind of hurt runs deep, and for years, I tried to bury it any way I could. I have had years of people pleasing, trying to fit in or trying to figure out why someone doesn’t like me.

Food became my comfort. By the time I was a kid, I was in rehab for childhood obesity. Then came Weight Watchers, diet after diet, and even bariatric surgery. The first time I really tried, I lost over 215 pounds. But here’s the thing—losing weight didn’t heal the pain inside.

In 2019, I lost my brother, and it felt like my whole world came crashing down. I gained back over 100 pounds, and all that shame and guilt came flooding in. I thought, “Maybe this is just my life. Maybe I’m meant to feel small, unseen, and unloved.”

But something amazing happened—I went to a retreat. I didn’t know it then, but that trip would change everything. I met six incredible ladies who had walked through the same kinds of pain I had. And for the first time, I didn’t feel alone. I didn’t feel like my story was too messy or too much.

That retreat gave me the courage to start my real healing journey. Through coaching, therapy, and holistic wellness, I began unpacking the hurt I’d been carrying my whole life. And as I healed, my body followed. I’ve now lost over 250 pounds and counting, but this time it’s different. It’s not just about the weight—it’s about shedding the shame, the fear, and the belief that I wasn’t good enough.

If you’ve ever felt like life is just too heavy, I need you to hear this: You’re not alone. Your story matters. And healing is possible.

Here’s to finding your courage, your voice, and the love you deserve. 💜

With love , empowerment, and healthy beginnings,

Amanda
